An irresistible layering of classic house over rolling, breakneck beats; it has stood the test of time to become a record box or digital staple of DJs up and down the country, and all over the world. It’s 2015 and Liquid is back in the game.
Digital Niyabinghi aka Paul Ibiza has been a key figure in dance music history since the Ibiza Record days of the early 1990’s. Commonly regarded as having been one of the inventors of jungle techno / jungle music, Paul returns under the banner of Digital Niyabinghi to bring his exclusive sounds of Jungle Dub a 160BPM hybrid of dub and jungle music complete with his own 29 stack “Digital Niyabinghi Jungle Dub Sound System.
Marcus has been DJ’ing for over 16 years with his first show on Flava FM in 1999 which was soon followed by guest appearances over the years on many top radio stations such as Kiss FM, BBC Radio1, Radio 1Xtra and Choice FM. Now with his weekly show on Rinse FM Marcus continues to fly the flag for all things bass/house and after recently setting up his own label “Bass Clinique” things are looking lively for 2015
Jacky Murda has been flying the flag for the new school ragga-jungle movement for some time now. Representing a number of different labels and crews such as Chopstick Dubplate, Jing Bong Ting and Little Island Records, Jacky has firmly cemented his reputation in the history books. Keep an eye out for some exciting collaborations for 2015 and beyond.
Hip-Hop production powerhouse Frankie Teardrop aka Ghosttown has been providing MC’s and vocalists the world over with some of the finest home grown UK beats on the market. With a number of new projects lined up for 2015 it’s time to get your ears in tune with Ghosttown. Deadplayers / exploring the boundaries of bass music with focus on UKHH.
Over the past few years Bahia has been gigging regularly, showcasing at BoomTown, Mischief Festival, Symmetry Festival and in London venues such as Hootananny in Brixton. She has also been lucky enough to work alongside artists such as Contact Play’s Jam Baxter, Unit 137 and King’s Hifi. 2015 promises to be a fruitful year for the rising star.
Rompa’s Reggae Shack
Born at Snowbombing in 2012 Rompa’s Reggae Shack has invited some of dance music’s most respected DJs and producers to share their favourite reggae riddims at a number of events over the course of the past 3 years. Having hosted stages at Snowbombing, Boomtown, and Lounge On The Farm and recently hosting room 3 at Fabric – acts such as Rudimental, Congo Natty, Dub Pistols, Gorgon City, Breach, Artwork, Mr. Motivator have all represented at the shack.
STEP:ONE is a collective of DJ’s, producers, artists, graphic designers and creative minds. Promoting events since 2003 STEP:ONE continues to provide events with top level DJs spanning many genres. Daddy Nature represents Urban Nerds and Rompa’s Reggae Shack and has been DJing since the late 1990’s. Having won a Smirnoff regional DJ competition in 2004 to winning a recent Wray & Nephew reggae soundclash at their 2014 Jamaica Rum Tings event his sets combine a mixture of dub, reggae, dancehall and jungle.
