New Club Opening | Mode | W10

With the recent closure of a number of London’s top venues it’s refreshing news to hear that there is a new venue just about to open its doors. Complete with restaurant and top of the range Void sound system MODE promises to assault the senses from every direction. Mixing music with high-end dining, cutting edge sound with unique decor and the promise of the world’s finest DJs and bands gracing MODE, this intimate 700 capacity haven focuses on the all-round experience of culture, fusing intrinsic elements such as art and dining, much like its European contemporaries such as Berghain in Berlin and Trouw in Amsterdam.

For MODE, it’s about the ‘experience’ of culture; for those visiting this forward thinking, futuristic hub, it’s set to be an experience of the highest quality. Set amongst a minimalist design of concrete and metal, the club has been designed to ensure a memorable night by all. Dedicated to Notting Hill’s heritage and burgeoning arts scene, MODE will showcase a series of one-of-a-kind art works, from world-famous street artists such as Obey Giant to Andrew Cross, who has lifted MODE’s exterior to showcase a series of unique 3D LED mapping graphics. A multi-faceted venue, Creative Director Robin Collings – co-founder of Shangri-La – has created a space for hedonistic escapism. This venue has been designed to ensure a memorable night by all, decked out with a custom built, fully charged VOID Soundsystem (featuring the first VOID Stasys X:air in Europe and the first club in the world to utilise the VOID Tri-motion DJ Monitor system), a DJ booth featuring 4 Pioneer CDJ 2000 decks, 2 Technics 1210 vinyl decks and a DJM 900 Nexus set up and RMX 500 effects unit, creating a sonic experience that towers well above the normal standard found in London’s sprawling mass of venues, the first ‘extreme’ sound-system to be fitted in a London Club. In the words of VOID themselves:

“To attract the best DJ talent and discerning clubber MODE approached us to create a sonic experience well above and beyond the current norm and set themselves at the forefront of the latest technologies available. A design was specified with consideration to not only how the space will be used a club venue but also how people will use and move around the space socially.”

The musical programming of MODE is set to showcase some of the best live and electronic music names in the world, playing in the shadow of the club’s focal point of an authentic, restored church Organ. Keeping in line with Notting Hill’s proud and long history with music and culture, patrons of the MODE experience can expect all tastes catered for, from Thursday night’s MODE Live! series to unannounced, world class DJs on a Friday night, all whilst enjoying a bespoke and unique social  experience involving quality, signature dishes courtesy of Neneh Cherry collaborator, London music luminary and Love Food ambassador Andi Oliver.
