Flava D surprised fans last week by dropping ‘More Love‘, a 12 track album available via Bandcamp.
The self-released record’s made up of both old and new material, with bassline, UK garage, house and grime cuts fully representing. With a well-known tenacious work ethic as a producer, you can really hear how she’s perfected her craft in this release – it contains some of her best material to date. More Love plays like a fully realised album, rather than a collection of beats, which is a great achievement for an artist whose first release was only in 2013!
Danielle had some choice words on the making of the record:
Thank you to all my supporters that have stuck by me on my musical journey. This is my most personal project that I have done to date, and is my most versatile work capturing a lot of emotions that I went through during difficult periods in my life.
Since releasing my first records for Butterz back in 2013, Hold On & Home my life has changed dramatically. I’ve been able to focus on music full time, develop my sound and grow as a producer and DJ. Shouts to Elijah, Skilliam, Royal-T, Champion, DJ Q, Terror Danjah, Swindle, James & DK.
Thanks to the promoters that have booked me to DJ, UK and Worldwide, before this I never even had a passport. I’ve been able to visit a lot of great places and meet loads of true music heads. It’s been a real pleasure. Big up to Max and Devin for making sure I get everywhere safely. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit a lot more places soon.
All I want to do is be able to continue experimenting, collaborating and travelling through music. This is the first of many releases you will hear from me this year. Expect more Grime, Garage, House and beyond.
