News | G-Shock Sessions presents Luke Merryweather | G-Shock East | 5th February
On February 5th, G-Shock hold the latest in their series of free Art Sessions at the G-Shock East Store, Brick Lane.
This time around, G-Shock and Urban Nerds Collective have collaborated to present ‘Quarter Lyfe Crisis’; an in-store installation from graphic designer and artist Luke Merryweather featuring prints, paintings, plants and peculiars with a private view. A limited edition of signed prints will be up for grabs on the night, along with free drinks and music courtesy of the Reggae Roast crew.
Quarter Lyfe Crisis documents London’s exotic and chaotic environment, “exploring, collecting and celebrating the ever changing, multi-cultural fabric of daily life in the capital.” Through a range of mediums including collage, screen-printing, photography and object presentation Luke examines the juxtaposed and often idiosyncratic nature of London-living. It’s the embodiment of the G-SHOCK mantra: never give up.
Luke says: “It’s a privilege to exhibit at G-SHOCK East. I’ve been a fan ever since school; I remember standing in awe of the boys who had their bright intergalactic wrist accessories and the popular girls with their white and pink Baby G’s! Now, realising the brand has this belief in my art and are offering me the store as a platform to do as I please, it’s a dream come true!”
The launch event runs from 7:00PM – 9:30PM, Thursday 5th February. Sign up for the guestlist here. The exhibition will run from launch night til late March.
