Slackk will release an EP on R&S Records next month.

The Boxed label boss has already seen releases on a slew of respected imprints, adding R&S to an impressive list including Numbers, Unknown to the Unknown and Local Action.

The ‘Backwards Light’ EP sees a slightly different creative direction for the producer, known to his friends as Paul Lynch. He’s used the oppurtunity to explore some new tangents of electronic music whilst staying true to his instrumental grime roots. This makes for some interesting listening; ‘Posrednik’ attempts to utilise acid style in 8 bar structure, whilst ‘Monument’ alludes to the label’s techno heritage. Tracks range from the eastern tinged spiralling synths and punchy drum track of ‘Bells’, the jagged FM bass and crystaline arpeggios of ‘Saigon’ to the widescreen, cinematic vision of ’Sleeper Carriage’.
