This weeks ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Adidas ZX Flux. The Updated ZX silhouette appears in three colour-ups; the OG ZX Flux in total blackout, the ZX Flux Weave with a contrasting white outsole; and a photo print silhouette with a unique lightning bolt print applied to the upper. The three colour-ways collectively form the ‘Black Elements Pack’.
The ‘Black Elements Pack’ showcases Adidas’ innovation, the collection of ZX Flux colour-ups draws inspiration from Adidas’ brand archive, stripping them down to a lightweight upper, enhancing comfort as well performance. The silhouette is an update on the classic ZX 8000, the iconic running silhouette has been stripped of external accents and panels, resulting in a sleek, streamlined aesthetic, appearing in three distinct approaches to the ZX Flux.
The ZX Flux, new to Spring/Summer 2014 features a range of nylon based uppers applied to the three silhouettes using innovative design techniques uitilisng high quality photo prints, woven textured nylon and textured moulded TPU heel cages on a range of seamless, clean uppers. The ZX Flux also features a grippy ZX 8000 outsole, a rubber toe bumper and a Torsion® midsole providing adaptive midfoot support, with the three stripes subtly embossed onto the side of the mid-sole, finished off with a tonal textile lining on each ZX for added comfort.
The standout colourway in the ‘Black Elements Pack’ is the Black/Chalk colourway, which features a high quality lightning bolt photo print injected into the black nylon upper, introducing the graphic capabilities of the new Adidas Originals model. The Black/Chalk ZX Flux features a tonal black heel cage and three stripe branding, and sits on a contrast chalk torsion sole unit. The Adidas ZX Flux Weave in Black/Black features a high-quality woven textile upper with a visible coarse texture, with a tonal heel cage, accented with a contrast torsion sole unit. The sleek Black/Black rendition features a mesh upper with tonal croc debossed three stripes, tonal eyelets and a croc skin textured leather heel cage sitting above a torsion constructed sole unit. All three colour-ways are now available at official Adidas Originals retailer Wellgosh in limited quantities.
