This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the New Balance CT300FB in Flying The Flag Blue. The limited edition CT300 is one of the three classic silhouettes that were previously only available in the USA to drop as part of the ‘Flying the Flag’ Pack.
New Balance has produced a number of eye catching, premium built silhouettes in their factory based in Flimby, England that has drawn inspiration from British landscape and culture; celebrating that the styles had been expertly crafted on home soil. New Balance have taken design cues from everything from tea to seaside resorts in previous ‘Made in England’ collections. The latest ‘Flying the Flag’ collection features three silhouettes, each appearing with a solid coloured upper; taking its base colour from the Union Jack. Inspired by the blue portion of the Union Jack, New Balance re-appropriate a classic American tennis silhouette for a UK audience.
Previously only available in the USA, the CT300 is a clean, simply styled tennis silhouette that progresses on the illustrious heritage of the brand, famed for its high quality and stylish trainer styles. The upper appears in solid blue as a callout to a portion of the British flag and is crafted from premium pig-skin suede. The upper features perforated panelling for breathability at the toe-vamp and sidewalls, with luxurious pig-skin suede overlays at the toe-box, sidewalls, heel and tonal sidewall branding, a high quality nylon mesh tongue accented with a white, woven, branded tongue patch complete with a Union Jack, finished off with a tonal leather heel tab with an embroidered Union Jack flag tying things together. Underfoot, the rich navy uppers are set off with a crisp white vulcanised sole unit for grip and durability.
The New Balance CT300FB in Flying The Flag Blue RRP £109.95 is now available in limited numbers online and in store at Wellgosh.
