We’ve teamed up with online store Wellgosh to provide you with their current favourite “Trainer Of The Week” to feature on our blog and in our weekly newsletter. There are no other rules other than we have to feature a new style each week and give a description of why it’s their “Trainer Of The Week”. To find out more about Wellgosh click HERE.
This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Adidas Equipment Running Cushion 91 in Running White. Adidas have delved into their archives to reissue this classically styled runner from 1991 for Fall 2014. Although not as celebrated as the 1993 rendition, the EQT ’91 was initially released as a calculated and practical runner providing all the performance requirements needed by the everyday runner.
The faithful one-to-one reissue of the iconic 90’s runner retains all the original design genetics that featured on the 1991 iteration, from it’s asymmetrical collar for free ankle manoeuvrability down to the external heel counter that provided maximum stability locking the wearers foot into a comfortable position; eliminating friction whilst running. Every aspect of the running silhouette has been reapplied to the retro reissue, the upper is constructed from a blend of breakable mesh, synthetic suede overlays, an external heel counter, and finally the slick upper is accented with the iconic three stripe side wall branding finished in nylon to the quarter appearing in the original ‘Turbo Green’ colour as it did on the OG silhouette. The bulk of the performance design is located underfoot, featuring a combination of an injected EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning, Torsion mid foot support, softcell shock absorption in the heel, tied together with a durable grippy rubber outsole.
The limited edition retro reissue of the Adidas Equipment Running Cushion 91 is now available in Running White and Black/Chalk (a new colour up for Fall 2014) RRP £85.00 at Wellgosh. Stock is limited so don’t sleep on this drop if you’re in the market for a pair of these OG reissues of an iconic 1990’s Adidas Runner.
