This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Adidas ZX Flux Tech in Black, also available in Solid Grey drops as half of the ‘ZX Flux Casual Pack’. Having seen a multitude of Adidas Flux drops throughout the year, the ZX Flux Tech is a technical update on the ZX Flux silhouette that can be worn as a technical runner or a fashion forward lifestyle trainer.
Building on a particularly strong year for Adidas, the German sportswear giants combine three silhouettes to produce the ZX Flux Tech. The heel-cage taken from the ZX 800 and is fitted in a luxury soft brown leather which is matched with a ghillie piece alongside the laces on the eye-stay. Technical detailing in the midsole comes from the Adizero; one of Adidas’ most iconic performance runners from the 1990s. The features from the two archive runners is matched up with the performance and aesthetic qualities of the ZX Flux mixing the past and present for a unique, highly functional silhouette.
The ZX Flux Tech is a lightweight, breathable runner with a less sporty aesthetic. The hybrid silhouette’s upper is constructed from a seamless, lightweight, technical mesh, with the ZX 800 as the basis for the silhouette. The deconstructed runner features tonal stitched on nubuck three stripe sidewall branding breathable mesh lining and Adizero running tooling worked into the midsole, Adiprene lightweight, breathable cushioning in the heel of the sole unit, complete with a decoupled rubber outsole maximising traction and support.
Both the Black and Solid Grey colour-ways in the ZX Flux Tech from the Fall ‘Casual’ Pack are now available at Wellgosh. RRP £94.95.
