This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Nike Air Max Lunar 90 QS Deluxe in Team Orange/Antarctica which drops alongside a Lunar Max 1 Deluxe QS and Air Max 95 QS to form the Spring 2015 Quick Strike ‘Kabutomushi’ Collection.
The collection of three silhouettes is inspired by the Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle (referred to as the Kabutomushi). The three iconic Air Max silhouettes have been re-imagined since the original 2008 ‘Kabutomushi’ Collection which featured three Air Max silhouettes in their originals constructions. The Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 have been updated with a Lunarlon construction, whilst the Air Max 95 is decked in a vibrant new palette taking design cues from the Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle’s shell.
Aesthetically the Nike Air Max Lunar 90 Deluxe features the iconic safari print appearing in a metallic finish on the mudguard; taking cues from the Rhinoceros Beetle’s armoured shell. The palette consisting of Black, Antarctica, Catalina and Team Orange; draws inspiration from the coloration of the Beetle’s vivd iridescent exoskeleton.
The upper features premium leather overlays with tonal top stitching, pops of Team Orange on the collar, leather tongue patch and toe-vamp and flashes of Antarctica on the eye-stay and corrugated rubber heel branding are set off with off an off white icy hue appearing on the leather sidewall branding, laces and breathable mesh lining. Underfoot features a two-toned speckled midsole with a visible Air-Sole unit delivering lightweight cushioning.
The Air Max Lunar 90 Deluxe is available in limited quantities RRP £152.95 along with the Air Max Lunar 1 Deluxe RRP £142.95 and the Air Max 95 Deluxe RRP £172.95. All three QS ‘Kabutomushi’ silhouettes are available while stocks last. Demand for this collection is high, so grab yourself a pair promptly to avoid disappointment.
