Herschel Supply Co. introduce Surplus, a new range of military-inspired luggage and accessories for Autumn/Winter 2016.
Drawing inspiration from late 1960s American infantry supplies, the new collection shows off genuine herringbone twill and tactical detailing, with sturdy cotton webbing utility straps and heavy-duty zippers & hardware constructed from tumbled matte nickel – the same material used by the US military in order to reduce visibility when in the field.
Herschel’s mid-volume Sutton duffel, the Lawson backback, it’s bigger cousin the Dawson backpack and the Bamfield Tote all receive the Surplus treatment. The Chapter Travel Kit and Eighteen Hip Pack look especially strong in this particular makeup. Finishing touches include a customised tiger-camo lining in place of Herschel’s recognisable red and white stripes, complete with internal Surplus Division field ops branding found only on this range.
Joining the army-inspired luggage is a selection of Surplus hats, including the popular Glendale and Albert cap silhouettes, appearing with antique brass buckled adjustable strap and additional tactical details. The boonie-style Creek bucket hat features an adjustable chin cord and a tactical multi-loop webbing exterior headband, complete with mesh ventilated brass eyelets and a hidden notebook sleeve. New for this season is the Guard fatigue cap, whose distinctive flat-top silhouette fits perfectly with the range’s military theme. Topping off the brand’s headwear offerings is the ribbed Morris beanie, appearing in both army surplus and black colour-ups.
The Herschel Supply Co. Surplus Collection for AW16 is available now, both from UK stockists and the Herschel website, which now ships internationally!
